RETURN TO LIFE GROUPS
REASONS TO JOIN A LIFE GROUP.
1. You will gain a better understanding of the Bible.
In the LIFE Group environment, you can ask questions as the
study progresses. Listening to a Pastor’s message or a
teacher is just one method. Effective personal application also develops when
you can ask for clarification or more information.
2. You will feel more like you belong to God’s family.
Most people who are part of a
LIFE group will tell you the biggest reward is
getting to know other people beyond the surface. The Bible
uses the phrase “one another” over 50 times in the New
Testament. In a LIFE group, you learn we are all in the
same boat with struggles. It is there you can share your
prayer requests and really become a part of the fabric of
the local church body.
3. You will be able to deal with the stress of life better.
A
LIFE group is a great
support system for you life. In times of decision making,
stress or a crisis, you will gain stability and security
knowing there are people who really care and are praying for
you.
4. You will find that prayer is simply talking to God.
A sentence or two means much in prayer. In a small group
as you become comfortable, you may pray with others. A
group of 6 -12 people that you get to know and become
friends with is a great place to share promises in the Bible
and answered prayers of the group.
5. You will experience a deeper worship experience.
Many believers think worship must have a praise group, an
offering, and a sermon at a church. This is a
misunderstanding of what God’s word teaches us. You will
experience the truth that worship occurs anytime and any
place people gather for prayer, Bible study, and to deepen
their relationship with Jesus.
6. You will develop leadership skills you never knew you
had!
The challenge to all believers is to discover their
spiritual gift and to serve in that capacity for the benefit
of others. The idea of a “pew occupant” is far from the
biblical description of a maturing Believer in Christ. The
small group offers an environment that will allow you to
build self-assurance in understanding that you are an
important part of the local Body of Christ.
7. You will be involved in the New Testament Church.
“They devoted
themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. All the believers
were together and had everything in common they continued to
meet together…they broke bread in their homes and ate
together…Lord added to their number daily those who were
being saved.”
Acts 2:42,44,46-47
“Day after day, in the
temple courts and from house to house they never stopped
teaching and proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the
Christ.” Acts 5:42
"Greet also the church
that meets in their house.” Romans 16:5
"Aquilla and Priscilla
greet you warmly in the Lord and so does the church that
meets in her house.” I Corinthians 16:19
"Give greetings…to
Nympha and the church in her house.” Colossians
4:15
The potential of
LIFE groups is
enormous. Join one and become a part of a church that is
Sharing Christ - Serving each Member - Supporting all
families.
